In today
by Aetherek

Under the dawn of a new day,
I wake hearing sounds; similar,
That take me to a frontier; familiar,
To the one I’ve had for ages.

Desirable even for saints and sages,
Today takes a gentle form,
Just before it rages,
The day takes a gentle form,
Just before it raises.

To hear birds sing along
With my mother’s prayer,
Nothing gives gentle peace so.
To hear all sing natures song,
It isn’t yesterday or tomorrow,
But in today I belong,

Indeed in today I belong.
